Thank you for this. What does the lake in the allegory correspond to in reality?

Correspondence itself. Reflection in a lake is an example of correspondence between perception and external reality. Hence this particular fable being dedicated to the Correspondence Theory Team & all those engaged in similar work for the same purposes. Restoration of Realism, Common Sense Realism as the Cornerstone of Education & Governance.

Thank you. I believe our knowledge is imperfect, as when the New Testament says that we see things darkly as in a glass. Improvement is difficult and incremental, and debatable along the way, but improvement is possible.
